Nombre d'étudiants étrangers dans
les 50 principaux pays
General note
This table shows the country or territory of origin of foreign
students enrolled in institutions of higher education in the fifty
principal host countries, based on the latest year for which such
information is available (1995/1996 for most countries). The table
also includes as countries of origin the former U.S.S.R., former
Czechoslovakia and former Yugoslavia since a number of host countries
still report foreign students under these designations. The data
presented do not include certain major host countries for which
recent data are not available. The number of foreign students
enrolled in these 50 countries represents about 95 per cent of
the known world total.
