The University of Durham Business School is one of the longest established in the UK. Purpose built for postgraduate education, the School offers excellent facilities and is located in a beautiful semi-rural location, only ten minutes walk from the city centre.

Its MBA Programmes are, and always have been AMBA accredited, attracting students from over 40 nationalities each year. A wide range of electives are offered including Entrepreneurship and Small Business, for which the School has developed an international reputation.

Mission:
The mission of University of Durham Business School is:

a) To achieve and sustain recognised excellence in teaching and research in an international business school within the University of Durham.

b) To maintain and develop internationally recognised expertise in selected areas of business and management studies, including the small business sector.

c) To serve effectively the needs of the business and associated communities at regional, national and international levels.

d) To encourage the personal and professional development of all members of UDBS and to provide an agreeable and supportive environment.

Full-Time MBA, Part-Time MBA and Distance Learning MBA all accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA).


COURSE PROFILE

*AMBA Accredited* Full-Time MBA Programme.

An intensive one-year programme consisting of five core modules (Managing People, Managing Systems, Managing Finance, Managing in the Competitive Environment and Managing in the Global Context); six electives from a choice of 20; and a three-month project culminating in the submission of a dissertation. Skills-based workshops run in themes throughout the year.

CAMPUS FACILITIES

Library:
The Business School's Information Resources Library has study areas, large collections of books, journals, newspapers, research papers and CD-Rom databases and net searching facilities. Students also have access to the University's main library.

Location:
North East of England. 20 miles south of Newcastle upon Tyne. School located on the edge of the University campus, in a beautiful semi-rural area only 10 minutes walk from the City Centre.

The University's twelve colleges and two societies offer accommodation on campus, ranging from the splendour of Durham Castle to the delights of newer colleges.
Private rental accommodation in Durham is also easy to find and at a reasonable cost.
