UNIVERSITY FORUMS
Thanks to the internet you can now get most of the basic information
about universities and their programs online. But if you want
face-to-face contact with real people you should consider looking
into university forums, where many universities gather in one
public space to answer any questions that prospective students
might have. The key advantage of a forum for a candidate is that
he or she can meet with as many universities as he or she desires
in one place at one time. It is the quickest and most efficient
way for candidates who are beginning their search to gather helpful
advice and information on different universities and programs.
Forums also offer schools the advantage of talking with thousands
of prospective students, increasing their exposure and getting
a general idea of the quality of the candidates. Going to a university
forum will allow you to talk with school representatives about
how the admission process works, how to get financial aid, and
how to obtain more in-depth details on the programs youre
interested in. They are scheduled throughout the year, usually
in fall and winter, throughout the world. They are usually free,
and some require registration while others dont.

Although it kind of defeats the purpose of being able to communicate
with school representatives in person, there is a website that
organizes online college fairs: www.onlinecollegefair.com
To know if the university that youre interested participates
in a university forum, contact their admissions department and
ask them. If they dont they will surely be able to give
you contact information of someone from the school who can answer
your questions.
