 ARGENTINA

Admissions for foreigners

Foreigners must present certificates and diplomas of secondary studies completed in their home countries (high school transcripts and diplomas).

Diplomas must be translated by an official translator and:
- Certified by the educational authorities in the country where issued
- Ratified by an Argentinean embassy or consulate
- Ratified by the Ministry of Foreign Relations and International Commerce
- Ratified by the Buenos Aires legislature (only if studying in Buenos Aires)

When documents are presented for certification by an Argentinean embassy or consulate, the qualifications for admission, nature and duration of the studies, and the potential for access to equivalent higher education must be specified.
Students from the Mercosur countries (Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay), Chile, Italy, France, or Spain only need to present their certificates of secondary studies. Students from other countries must pass exams in the history and geography, ethics and citizenship, literature and languages of Argentina.

Example:
The University of Palermo has the following admission requirements: at least two years of secondary education and at least two introductory courses in history, political science, sociology, or economics. The university offers more than 500 courses per semester!
The tutorial system in Spanish is possible for all students. The selection of subjects is made in conjunction with the programs offered by the departments of art, history, journalism and communication, religion, literature, political science and international relations.
