Main schools and universities

The level of education in Austria is excellent in the majority of the classical (academic) studies and in artistic subjects, in music, in architecture (as well as the subjects taught in the higher arts schools). Notably the education in music is recognised world-wide and is surely one of the best in the world: the Mozarteum in Vienna and Salzburg attracts students from around the world who come and make their range. Other prestigious establishments, the University of Vienna, the largest Germanic university in the world (with almost 92,000 students!) which is set in magnificent buildings of the XIX century in the center of Vienna. All the academic courses are taught at this university.

In another category is the "Wirtschaftuniversität" of Vienna which offers recognized course programs in business and management, in which some MBAs are well rated, such as the MBA of Krems.

Finally, the "Fachhochschulen" started in 1993, is beginning to build a good reputation for its technical and professional courses.
