Degrees and diplomas

The Brazilian education system is composed by :

• " ensino superior " with a duration of 3 to 6 years ;
  

• " pós graduacão " (mestrado e doutorado).

In order to obtain a diploma, the mandatory courses must be completed as well as the option courses and there is generally an internship. In some internship programs there is a compulsory length of time. For medicine in the FURG the minimum training time is 10 semester and the maximum 18 semesters.
