Finding accommodation

University residency on campus is the favored place of the Chinese student life. These residencies are managed by students themselves through the means of the student associations of the university. These associations themselves depend on the national student federation, which all registered students must join. For international students, the international relations office in your university will help you in getting accommodation.

Generally foreign students have a special residency reserved for them. A university room, one that is double with a telephone and a television in the room and the bathroom in the hallway will come to US $3.50 per day and a room with a private bathroom will be US $8. The university authorities encourage students to live on campus, however there is the possibility of living in a hotel. In this case a permit is required for foreigners.
