Degrees/diplomas
In Colombia a degree is granted at the
end of the university cycle, which normally takes at least
five years. Many universities also require an internship
and a thesis. At the postgraduate level, a thesis is mandatory.
The undergraduate level is called "pregrado" and
usually follows high school, this cycle normally takes five
to six years. The length of the graduate-level cycle varies
according to the particular program.
The admission process is long, since registration forms
are distributed in September/February; files are received
in March/October and the exams are in April/August.
The office in charge of the admission process is called
"Dirección de Admisiones y Registro".
