 COLOMBIE

Finding a job

Colombia has a very high unemployment rate (20%), but an internship is always available, although some are unpaid. The minimum wage is only 286.000 pesos ($126/€145).
Colombian enterprises are always happy to welcome foreign students when they are serious and well qualified. Students in engineering and petrochemicals find Colombia a particularly good place to do an internship. Many foreigners come to Colombia as NGO members and others are attracted by the bio-diversity and ecology sectors. The health sciences are well known in Latin American countries and are beginning to open to foreign students.
