| Finding accomodation
There are many possibilities for foreign
students to find scholarships :
There are scholarships available depending on country of
origin. These are the largest in number. To find out additional
information, contact the authorities in your home country.
The scholarships by the French government (reserved
for nationals of countries who have signed a treaty of bilateral
cooperation with France) : given by the Minister of Foreign
Affairs. Applications for this scholarship must be effected
in home country at the Cultural services office in the French
Embassy no later than October of the year before the University
year begins.
To obtain this scholarship you need the following :
You cannot be employed (paid)
You must complete the course for which you have obtained
the scholarship
You cannot receive any other grant
You provide all information asked in the scholarship form
and inform the authorities about your address and any other
changes
Any changes withheld or not communicated to the concerned
authorities without justification can lead to the cancellation
of the scholarship.
You cannot leave France for personal reasons or because
of studies without informing the authorities.
The Ministry fixes the base monthly sum allocated each year.
The monthly grant given to a student varies depending on
the level of studies chosen and his/her qualification. The
amount of the grant is approximately 3900FF (US$780). The
other less important grants (travel, social security, study
fees) are also available to students.
There are also scholarships granted by international
organizations and non-governmental organizations. The
list of scholarships can be found in the public guide published
by UNESCO : Studies abroad.
For European students there is a scholarship awarded by
the Erasumus program.
