 GREECE

The pillar of Western civilization

The pillar of Western civilization, Greece is the birthplace of democracy and the Olympics, the land of Plato, Sophocles and Homer. Greeks are very proud to show the value of their rich cultural heritage, and Greece has become a popular tourist destination for lovers of old rocks and Mediterranean beaches.
Greece is also the tenth country in the European Union. Its explosive geopolitical environment (Macedonia, Kosovo...) does not rule out real economic and social change. Chosen as the location for the Olympics in 2004, Athens and the whole country is making a huge effort to get everything ready. Yet, in spite of all its attractions, few foreign students have chosen Greece except for exchange programs.
