 HONG KONG

Health insurance

All full time international students are covered by a group personal accident insurance policy against death and permanent disablement arising from accidents while participating in academic or extra-curricular activities arranged by the university and/or student organization. The maximum coverage is US$12,920. Also included is an additional medical coverage of up to US$646 and emergency repartition of US$6460. Holders of Hong Kong identity card receive a much reduced cost for medical treatment at the local government hospitals.
The school insurance does not apply to personal travel in and away from Hong Kong. So international students are advised to have additional medical insurance from home country.
For visas lasting less than 6 months a medical insurance from home country is required.
