public transport :Most taxi drivers speak only little English.
It is useful to have destination written in Chinese.
Tender exact fare when getting on buses and on minibuses
tell the driver that you want to get off.
Hong Kong is a very safe city both during the day and at
night; but as with everywhere protect yourself and carry
as little cash as possible.
Hand shaking is the common form of greeting in Hong Kong.
Festivals :
Festivals are never far away from the hustle and bustle
of modern day Hong Kong. Chinese New year marks the start
of the lunar calendar, "floating children" are
unique to the Cheung Chau Bun Festival, a celebration of
light welcomes the mid-autumn festival and there is the
dragon boat festival.
Cuisine :
There is an abundance of authentic Asian and Western
cuisines to be sampled in Hong Kong. It is the place to
explore a dazzling variety of Chinese cuisine. The variety
of tastes, textures and seasonal specialties delights the
palate. A staggering array of restaurants present cuisines
from around the world.
Transport :
Public transport in Hong Kong is extensive, efficient,
and economical but traffic can be very congested during
peak periods. The major modes of transport include large
double-decker buses, minibuses, trains, ferries and Mass
Transit Railways. Taxis are also abundant.
