Using public transport :Most taxi drivers speak only little English. It is useful to have destination written in Chinese.
Tender exact fare when getting on buses and on minibuses tell the driver that you want to get off.
Hong Kong is a very safe city both during the day and at night; but as with everywhere protect yourself and carry as little cash as possible.
Hand shaking is the common form of greeting in Hong Kong.

Festivals :
Festivals are never far away from the hustle and bustle of modern day Hong Kong. Chinese New year marks the start of the lunar calendar, "floating children" are unique to the Cheung Chau Bun Festival, a celebration of light welcomes the mid-autumn festival and there is the dragon boat festival.

Cuisine :
There is an abundance of authentic Asian and Western cuisines to be sampled in Hong Kong. It is the place to explore a dazzling variety of Chinese cuisine. The variety of tastes, textures and seasonal specialties delights the palate. A staggering array of restaurants present cuisines from around the world.

Transport :
Public transport in Hong Kong is extensive, efficient, and economical but traffic can be very congested during peak periods. The major modes of transport include large double-decker buses, minibuses, trains, ferries and Mass Transit Railways. Taxis are also abundant.

Time :
The local time in India is GMT +8.00 all year round.
