 ISRAEL

Degrees/Diplomas

Undergraduate Studies
In Israel, the bachelor’s degree programs can be completed in 3 years at a university and in 4 years at a college.
However, overseas students are often required to take a one-year preparatory program, called Mechina, prior to being admitted to an accredited program.

The universities, the higher education institutes and the colleges all offer undergraduate programs.

Graduate Studies
This stage of greater specialization is open to candidates who have completed a bachelor’s degree. It leads to a :
- Master’s Degree or Magister, one to three years after the undergraduate studies, depending on the fields
- Doctorate Degree after four years or more, corresponding to a period of individual research, submission and defence of a thesis.

Graduate studies are offered exclusively by the universities.
