Who to contact?
Pre-registration: All foreign students who want to
start or continue their studies in Italy need to contact the Italian
consulate or the Italian Cultural Institute between the 1st of
April and the 15th of May, even if they do not have their exam
results, so they can place a request for pre-registration. The
request states the university the applicant would like to attend
without the right of withdrawal. If the applicant fulfills the
requirements for entrance, the consulate will transfer the request
to the university stating that the applicant can be accepted,
under the condition that the applicant passes the Italian language
exam.
In the cases where the university has passed its quota of
places, they will propose to the applicant another institute
or another course at the same university.
Every year the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarifies the
necessary arrangments, relating to the methods in which
to register, for foreign students and Italian students who
have education qualifications awarded abroad.
These arrangments are particularly concerned with the presentation
of the requests, the forms, the qualifications to be presented,
the calendar and the contents for the proof of admission,
the residence (permit) card and entrance visa for the purpose
of studying, etc...
It is therefore necessary to get the information every year
on the precise methods.
