 ITALY

Finding a job

Italy is a divided country when it comes to wealth and the job market. The north is industrialized and rich, the south is still rural and the unemployment is devastating. If you want to find a job it is better to be in Milan than in Naples. Furthermore there is a large amount of Albanians, Kurds, Africans, etc...refugees that tend to take the seasonal jobs.
You must be determined and prepared to do what you can to find a job.
Student associations gather announcements and advertisements to permit a much easier search.

Finding an internship:
Internships are a recent thing in Italy but are developing very quickly. The private catholic universities are the pioneers in internships and have a placement service for their students. Here as well, individual initiative and determination is what is necessary to suceed in finding an internship.
