There are no particular health hazards in Italy. The only dangers that you will have to watch for are the mosquitos and sun burns!
The hospitals: They are too full, in bad condition, but completely free! For more comfort...and security, you can go to private clinics although they are expensive.
Doctor appointments are also free for all EU citizens.
