Admissions conditions

Qualifications & Equivalence
Foreign students are admitted to universities under the same conditions as Lebanese students, provided they hold a qualification equivalent to the Lebanese Baccalaureat Part II (High School or Secondary School Leaving Certificate) obtained at the end of 12 years of formal education.
The equivalence application procedure starts at the closest Lebanese embassy. Then the application is sent to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education in Lebanon where it gets the final recognition. This is when the foreign students may start the registration procedures in the selected university.
The body providing information on the recognition of studies and qualifications in higher education in Lebanon is :
Commission Nationale des Equivalences (National Committee of Equivalences)
Ministère de l’Education Nationale (Ministry of Education)
Address : Starco building, Starco street, Beirut - Lebanon
Tel : +961 (1) 371498 / 744250

Languages
They must have a good command of the selected university’s language of instruction, whether it be arabic, english or french. Therefore, most of the universities require from the foreign students to take a language exam (TOEFL in the anglo-saxon universities, Test d’Aptitude en Langue Française in the French universities).
