Visa information

To enter Luxembourg a visa is not required for the citizens of the following countries: countries of the European Union, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Czech Republic, El Salvador, Equator, Guatemala, Honduras, Iceland, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Malawi, Malaysia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Norway, New Zealand, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Slovakian Republic, Republic of Togo, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela. However for extended stays a visa is required for all citizens except EU citizens.

For stays longer than 3 months, you must register with the community administrator in your place of residency.

"Tourist" visa

Length of stay: less than 90 days
Limits: Do not have the right to work
Visa fee: 1700 LUF (42 Euros/ US $37.50)
Time required to issue the visa: up to 3 months

"Student" visa

Length of stay: more than 3 months
Required application documents: medical insurance certificate (E 111 ...), proof of financial solvency, academic certificate.

Working visa

Required application documents: medical insurance certificate (E 111 ...), proof of financial solvency, employment contract given by the employer.
