Visa requirements
Tourist Visa (single entrance)
For those who have entered Mexico previously
- Photocopy of valid passport (first three pages)
- Photocopy of previous Mexican visa
- Photocopy of an international credit card or bank statement
For those who have never entered Mexico
- Photocopy of valid passport (first three pages)
- Certificate of ownership in the name of the visa petitioner
- Proof of financial means (bank statement)
- Attestation of employment (showing length of service and
salary)
- Photocopy of an international credit card (optional)
Tourist Visa for ten years (multiple
entries)
- Visa application form
- One photo
- Two letters of recommendation
- Curriculum vitæ
- Record of financial means: photocopy of a property title,
bank attestation, photocopy of an international credit card,
etc.
Work Visa (for one year, multiple
entries)
For those who have entered Mexico previously
- Photocopy of valid passport (first three pages)
- Photocopy of previous Mexican visa
- Photocopy of an international credit card or bank statement
For those who have never entered Mexico
- Photocopy of valid passport (first three pages)
- Attestation of employment in a business
- Bank attestation
- Tax statement
- Certificate of ownership in the name of the visa petitioner
Transit Visa
- Photocopy of valid passport
- Visa for the country of final destination
- Proof of financial means needed to transit the country
Student Visa (for exchange students,
etc.):
- Passport valid for at least six months
- Photocopy of the pages of the passport containing the
photo, name and address, expiration date, and visa in force
(if applicable)
- Attestation from the Mexican university, indicating the
acceptance of the student, the period, the level, and the
course to be followed
- Attestation from the foreign university, indicating the
Mexican university that will receive the student, the period,
the level, and the course to be followed
- The current student identification card with a copy of
both sides
- Proof of financial means for studying in Mexico (for example,
letter of responsibility from the parents, accompanied by
proof of revenues from the parents or the person responsible
for the student, with a photocopy). Students must prove
a minimum income of $300 per month.
- Two recent passport-style photos
For certain nationalities there is no charge
for a visa.
The normal cost is $36.
It usually takes 2 to 10 days to obtain a visa.
