 MEXICO

Travel information

Mexico is an excellent place to practice such sports as hiking, fishing, surfing, climbing, and diving.
It is a country with a very rich past (Mayan and Aztec cultures) and also has a breadth of writers to discover: Carlos Fuentes, Juan Rulfo, or the Nobel-laureate Octavio Paz, to name but a few.
It is possible to pay in U.S. dollars in all tourist locations.
Note: Mexico City is a very large city that is not always safe. Keep up your guard against thieves, swindlers, pickpockets…
There are places that it is best to avoid, as well as places that are safer than others.
Means of transportation:
Air travel
is quite reasonable, and it is possible to find very good prices for travel to the United States, Canada, or the rest of the Americas.
The biggest companies are Aeroméxico and American Airlines.
Travelers can get to Mexico by car from the United States by one of 20 official crossing points.
Buses are used extensively in Mexico and are quite comfortable for long journeys.
There are private highways that are in better shape, safer, and faster than the public roads, although they are less economical.
Taxis are used extensively in the cities and prices are negotiable with the drivers. It is advisable to take taxis from hotels or directly from taxi stands.
The subway system in Mexico City has ten lines.
