Language: Certificate of Dutch as a foreign language
The Certificaat Nederlands is useful in proving a certain level of mastery of Dutch not only for application to institutions of higher learning, but also when seeking employment in the Netherlands or parts of Belgium.

Equivalence of diplomas:
The diplomas obtained in other countries will often permit access to professional schools or universities. There are no general rules in this regard. A diploma that grants access to higher education in some countries may not necessarily do so in the Netherlands. The best thing to do is check with the particular school or university. Some information in this regard is available from Nuffic (www.nuffic.nl). This organization indicates possible equivalents for foreign diplomas, but it is the particular schools and universities that ultimately decide.
