Finding scholarships
Educational stipend:
All Dutch students receive a government stipend, whether
or not they live with their parents.
Certain foreign students can also receive this grant
under certain conditions:
residency permit A (yellow): business permit
residency permit B (pink): proof of admission as
a refugee
residency permit C (light blue): permit of undetermined
length
residency permit D (green): permit for a specific
purpose; this permit is usually in the form of a special
stamp in the passport. The permit should mention that it
is granted "without restrictions" (for example, family relocation,
stay with parents, humanitarian reasons). A series of other
conditions are required in this case.
residency permit CE (blue): if your father or mother
or both are from a country within the European Union and
work or have worked in the Netherlands.
You cannot benefit from the state financing of studies
if you are the holder of a residency permit D that includes
restrictions. This is the case if you are in the Netherlands:
for provisional purposes (for example, to study)
on business
living with a Dutch family
living at your own expense
living with a partner.
For full information on all programs of financial aid, it is
best to consult the university directly.
