Finding scholarships

Grants from the Norwegian government within the framework of the QUOTA program benefits students of Eastern and Central Europe and developing countries, grants and student loans are offered to cover all the expenditures of daily living for ten months.

Grants are offered by the Norwegian government to certain students from countries with which Norway has passed reciprocal agreements. The number of grants varies according to the nature of the agreement. Each country has the privilege of appointing beneficiary students. You can contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of your country for more information.

The following countries have passed agreements: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Holland, Poland, NORWAY, Romania, Russia, Republic of Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey.

To benefit from this program, the student must have already studied for two years at university and be between the ages of 20-35. They must have a sufficient level of English and Norwegian.

The goal of these agreements is to favorize exchanges between Norway and other countries.

Preference is given to students wishing to study subjects such as the Norwegian language, literature, history, art, law, folklore, fauna and flora, geology, geography, economics, etc... These grants are normally awarded for one complete academic year, but sometimes can be divided.

The NORAD (Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation) equally offers grants for Master programs, for more information contact the Norwegian embassy in your country.

International grants exist, which are granted by the large international institutions, contact UNESCO or the UN.
