 PORTUGAL

Health information

There are complete state-provided health facilities and also private institutions. Students from the European Union only need the form E-128 or the form E-111, whereas students from other countries need private insurance. Students can get medical assistance at a Centro de Saùde, or health center. The coverage for EU citizens does not include dental fees or medication. This is also true for most private insurance.
Students traveling in Portugal have to watch out for sunburns, but in general, there are no health risks. When driving, students have to be extremely careful since Portugal has a very high rate of accidents on its highways.
