Visa information
Nationals from the following countries
may enter Singapore without a visa : Australia, Brunei,
Canada, Hong Kong (British passport or certificate of Identity),
Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Switzerland,
UK and USA.
Foreign students need a valid passport
to enter Singapore. For nationals of countries like P.R.China,
India and Vietnam the universities usually advise and apply
for a student pass. Foreign students who are issued with
the letter of approval for a student pass will be granted
approval for a single-journey entry visa together with the
student pass. The original approval letter from the Singapore
Immigration and the valid passport must be presented to
the duty officer at the Immigration checkpoint upon arrival
in Singapore. A student will be given a student pass for
2 weeks. During this period, the student must apply for
a student pass (after completion of registration formalities
at the Registrars Office) at the Singapore Immigration
department.
The following documents are to be submitted
when applying for a student pass :
- Complete Application form 16
- Passport with a valid Social Visit pass
- Disembarkation/Embarkation form
- Student registration cash card
- A Medical Report including the original copy of the laboratory
report
- Letter from Registrars office to certify student
status, course of study and period of stay
Fees are US $40.00 : student pass
for 1 year or part thereof
(Total : US $40 x no. of years to graduation)
US $20.00 : Multiple journey visa.
