Visa information

Tourist visa
Students from the EU do not need a tourist visa. However, if you are arriving from any other country the following documents are required to apply for a tourist visa:
- The specified form
- 4 identity photographs
- Valid passport
- Round trip ticket (original and copy)
- International medical insurance (original and copy)
- Written proof of financial resources
- Written proof of accommodation (original and copy)
- Allowed length of stay: Less than three months (ninety days)
- Time it takes to get the visa: Two working days

Student visa
Students from the European Union do not need a sudent visa, however all other students need to apply for a student visa. This can be done by visiting a Spanish consulate or embassy prior to your departure. The following documents are required for the application of a student visa:
- Valid passport
- Formulary
- 4 identity photographs
- An enrollment certificate in a university (15 study hours minimum)
- Written proof of financial resources (89,000 Pesetas-480USD/535 Euro/month)

Medical certificate
Allowed length of stay:
More than three months
Time it takes to get the visa: Two working days and in case of non-regulated higher education studies, a month.
Once you have arrived at Spain, students must go to the International Office of the Spanish police to request and receive their Student Card (Calle Moratin 43 Madrid, Metro: Anton Martin).

Working visa
Students who wish to work in Spain must have permission by the Labor Ministry. The diplomas must be accredited. Foreign students that have a Student Card can only work under the circumstances that the job is related to their studies and has a duration of no longer than a year or the validity of their Student Card. To request permission to work you must contact the Delegations or Sub-delegations (Area de Tarbajo y Asuntos Sociales). The working visa will be given in the Foreign Office of the Spanish police. The following documents are required for the application of a working visa:
- Valid passport
- Valid Student Card
- Study certificate
- National identity document of the firm or its fiscal identity code
- Working contract
- Written proof of the activites of the firm and of the job offer
- Writen proof of financial resources of the firm.

Medical certificate
A medical certificate is required for the request of a student visa. The certificate must certify that you have no contagious disease, have not been a drug-addict and have no mental illnesses.
