Local information
Attracted to large open spaces or urban cities?
In both cases, the exquisite is just a visit away: Fjords, lakes,
islands, and forests that cover half the country come into contact
with historic cities such as Stockholm known as the Venice of
the North or Goteborg with its architecture which was influenced
by the Netherlands. The climate strongly influences the lifestyle,
everybody goes to bed early and in the summer one can still see
the sun at midnight! The student associations are very active
and will give you the opportunity to have access to the different
services and important sporting organizations on the campuses
and where a bicycle will be your means of transportation.
Climate and season:
Sweden has a much moderate climate than other Nordic countries
due to the Gulf Stream and the winds of the fairly warm winds
coming from the West. Nevertheless, throughout a large part of
the year Sweden is covered in snow. In the summer the days last
19 hours and 24 hours in Laponie (furthest north).
Summer starts in June and finishes in September.
Winter starts in December and finishes in March.
Distances:
In its surface area Sweden is the third largest
country in Europe. Sweden is extended along a North-South axis
of more than 1,500 km in length. The transportation networks are
concentrated in the south of the country.
