 SWEDEN

Health insurance

You must be covered by an illness-disability insurance for the duration of your stay in Sweden. If your stay exceeds one year you are then considered to be a resident and must then register with the national health insurance plan.

EU member-states: ask at your insurance office for the necessary document that proves that you are covered (E 111 form).

Australia, Algeria, Estonia, Hungary, and Poland: You will need your passport and a health insurance certificate from your country of origin.

Non-EU countries: get information from your country to see if an agreement with Sweden exists. If yes, bring the adequate documents. If not, think of getting insurance or an international assistance with repatriation in case of an accident.
