Visa information
Citizens of certain countries are exempt from needing a visa
for all stays in Taiwan for less than 14 days:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, France, Germany,
Holland, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, Sweden,
United Kingdom, United States.
For a longer stay you must present a single or multiple entrance
visa:
60 day single entrance visa, tourist or business
Necessary documents: Passport, academic or acceptance certificate,
copy of diplomas, health insurance.
Conditions: Do not have the right to work.
Visa fee: 900 NT$
Time required to issue visa: 24 to 48 hours
Validity: Can be renewed twice, which comes to a total of
6 months. This visa is used by students.
30 day multiple entrance visa, tourist or business
Necessary documents: Same as above.
Conditions: Do not have the right to work.
Visa fee: 1,800 NT$
Time required to issue visa: 24 to 48 hours.
Validity: 1 year
60 day multiple entrance visa, tourist or business
Necessary documents: Same as above.
Conditions: Do not have the right to work.
Visa fee: 1,800 NT$
Time required to issue visa: 24 to 48 hours.
Validity: 6 months.
Resident certificate
The Alien Resident Certificate (A.R.C.) must be applied
for at the police department in ones place of resident 15 days
after arriving into the country.
Specificity: For all travels outside the country you must
ask for an entrance permit.
Duration of stay: 1 to 3 years.Necessary documents:
a letter stating reason of stay.
Fee: single entrance 1,500 NT$, multiple entrance 2,000 NT$.
Working permit
Necessary documents: Work certificate

Citizens of the following countries are exempt from payment of
the visa fees:
Bahamas, Costa Rica, Dominica, Ecuador, Fiji, Greece, Grenada,
Guatemala, Indonesia, Nauru, Peru, Republic of Korea, Saint Kitts
& Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines,
Salomon Islands, Senegal, Singapore, South Africa, Tonga, Tuvalu,
United States, Venezuela.
