Vocational Schools
The two-year vocational schools specialize in training ancillary power and lead to the " Diploma " (associate level).

Universities
The main stage
In Turkey, the main stage leads to a "Lisans Diplomasi" equivalent to a bachelor’s degree; it can be completed in 4 years. It takes more for medicine (6 years) and dentistry and veterinary medicine (5 years).
The professional qualification obtained in medicine is "Doktor", and in engineering "Muhendis diplomasi".

The second stage
The second stage corresponds to a deepening of knowledge, and leads after 1 to 2 years to the lisans diplomasi programs. The preparation of a thesis then leads to the "Yüksek Lisans Diplomasi", which is equivalent to a master’s degree.

The third stage
The third stage leads to individual research, 2 to 4 years study, and then from the preparation of a thesis to the "Doktora" (doctorate). In the fine arts, the "Sanatta Yeterlik" is the degree equivalent to a doctorate.
