Visa information

Foreign students should secure a Student Visa prior to their trip to Turkey from the nearest Turkish embassy in their country. Once in Turkey, a residence permit should be obtained by application to the local authorities within one month of the student’s arrival.

• Tourist Visa
Validity : 3 months fee : 60 US$ (45US$ if taken at airport)
Required documents : Visa application form, valid passport, and 1 passport-sized photo.
Delivery time : 1 day to 2 months, depending on the applicant’s nationality.
Nationals of certain countries (Canada, USA, UK) can obtain a Tourist Visa directly upon arrival at the airport in Turkey. A list of these countries is available in all the Turkish embassies.

• Student Visa
Validity : depends on duration of stay
Fee : 60 US$
Required documents : letter from the university in Turkey, visa application form, valid passport, 1 passport-sized photo, and a financial guarantee
Delivery time : 1 to 3 months, depending on the applicant’s nationality.
Restrictions : Foreign students are not allowed to work in Turkey.

• Working Visa
Validity : depends on working contract’s validity
Fee : 60 US$
Required documents : letter from the Turkish employer, visa application form, valid passport, and 1 passport-sized photo.
Delivery time : 5 weeks to 2 months, depending on the applicant’s nationality
