 TURKEY

Traveling information

There are international airports at Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir. The national carrier is Turkish Airlines
You may also take the train. The Istanbul Express goes to Munich, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Istanbul.
Major European cities such as Frankfurt and Vienna are also well serviced by bus lines.
The buses are faster than the trains.

Within the country : the domestic flights of Turkish Airlines link all major cities. Buses are cheap, come frequently, and go almost everywhere in Turkey. Trains are usually slow and uncomfortable, but some of them are of good value; for example, the ones linking Istanbul, Izmir and Ankara. If you have nerves of steel you may travel by car, but keep in mind that traffic is terrible and chaotic. The "dolmuses", shared taxis, might be a good option for short trips.
