PROGRAMS FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS

Contacts and Information
When choosing a university, it is best to contact the university and request a prospectus to be sent to you. A prospectus is an information booklet that describes the univeristy, its courses, the different study programs offered, tuition fees, accommodation fees, and so on.
One way of applying to universities is by registering with UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Services of the UK). The universities work through UCAS to send information to prospective students and it offers alot of information about studying in the UK. It is highly recommended to visit the UCAS website for any information:
http://www.ucas.ac.uk
Other Sites :
http://www.educationuk.org
http://www.britishcouncil.org- British Council (organziation that specializes in giving advice and info to foreign students)
http://www.dfee.org.uk- Minister of education

Linguistic Programs
Designed exclusively for foreign students, some universities offer language "summer schools" in the summer.

Certain public and private schools offer EFL (English as a Foreign Language) courses. Some are affiliated with the British Council. For information and contacts go to: www.englishinbritain.co.uk

Exchange Programs
For European Union students, the Erasmus/Socrates program allows you to go to the UK under the best conditions with the assurance that any degree you get there will transfer as an equivalent degree at your home university. This program is recognized in all countries that have made an agreement with the European Union in the form of the Leonardo program.
See WorldStudent- Magazine section: European Programs

Most British schools have signed exchange agreements and partnerships with many universities throughout the world. This remains as one of the best (and easiest) ways to go and study in the UK- inquire for information from your home university.

MBA (Master in Business Administration)
This is a specialized study designed for young employees or students who have already received their bachelor's degree. According to the Financial Times, 15 MBA programs offered in the UK are amongst the 100 best MBA programs in the world. An estimated 3,000 international students pursue MBAs in the UK, and have gone on to collaborate with large national companies. However this program is particulary costly and can cost from £10,000 (US $15,000) and can have a minimum duration of 18 months.
